It's hard to believe that our final day in the Philippines has arrived. It's 6:30 am Sunday morning. We're having our last breakfast at our hotel, packing and then on to church for the final service at Qwest Fellowship Church before they move into their new location. After church our plan is to help them move their equipment to the new location, have dinner and then go to the airport. Our flight actually leaves at 1:30 am Monday morning local time, then we fly to Seoul, S. Korea and then to Atlanta where we'll get in about 10:30 am Monday. So that's it for our final day.
Reflecting on the past few days since I last wrote, they have been busy, fun, exciting, interesting, and the list of adjectives goes on. If you checked out the blog site you got to see the progress we made up to that point in time. Well you need to go back to check it out again. (TeamCebu2016.blogspot.com). We were able to finish our primary work of creating a North Point version of Wamba Land to serve the needs of infants thru kindergarten. The reaction we've had from the church staff and volunteers who worked with us has been terrific. They're really excited about how this and all their new spaces will impact the people they serve. Needless to say we are all really gratified that we were able to finish the space and that it's been received so well.
We were also able to make a good start on The Cafe which will be used for UpStreet and Inside Out. Best of all Dan was able to mentor some of the church staff and volunteers to show them how to frame and finish the parts of the space that still aren't complete. They all had a good time taking ownership of the project.
So we are departing with mixed emotions. Pleased with what we were able to accomplish, sad to say good-bye, but looking forward to being home. I won't comment about how we feel about the the pending plane ride.
So I want to say 'thank you' once again for all your support both spiritual and financial. Without your help and support it wouldn't have been possible. I want you to know that what you've done will have a lasting impact on their church and the people they serve.
God Bless You.
Best Regards,
Bob
